So how can you make sense of your own marketing with that number of resources to access.

Here are the 3 Steps to making your marketing work:

  1. Where are you now?
    1. Work out in detail where you are right now. Some headings might include:
      1. Finances – what cash does the business hold to invest in marketing activities
      2. SWOT – work out your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats
      3. PEST/SLEPT/PESTLE – do an external analysis of what might impact your business in the next 3 years – negative and positive
      4. Competition – how strong or weak are they compared to your offering
      5. People – how good are your team for scaling your business
  2. Where do you want to be? What is your Vision?
    1. Start with the numbers – what turnover/profit are you looking to make
    2. Which product or service that you offer has the best chance of scaling
    3. Is there space in the market place for your expansion plans
    4. What resources do you need to make this happen
  3. How will you get there
    1. Write out the plan – As complex as needed, as simple as possible
      1. SOAP – Strategy On A Page – keep it as short as possible
    2. Communicate it to the team – refer to it frequently and regularly
    3. Reward behaviours that make the plan happen
